Phillauri opened decently only across multiplexes of Punjab and Delhi and was poor elsewhere. The morning shows occupancies was only 20% for Phillauri.
Phillauri was expected to be better in Punjab and Delhi belt due to presence of Diljit Dosanjh but even there the opening is not upto mark.
Phillauri will end up as 7th or 8th highest opening of 2017 but only because of low number of movies released so far.
The premise looks exciting and Anushka Sharma’s on a winning streak. Plus, the budget of the film is around Rs 21 crore but the film has already recovered Rs 12 crore from its music and satellite rights. Anushka Sharma’s second production venture Phillauri has collected Rs 4.02 crore on the first day.
